Scientists at a museum in Australia are getting an extra-large order of calamari. They're getting a rare chance to study a giant squid. This specimen weighs 250 kilograms, making it one of the largest ever recovered. Fishermen off the southern coast of Australia dredged up the real-life sea monster. A living giant squid has never been recovered, so scientists have to piece together whatever they can find about the animal's life cycle from preserved remains like this one.
