We believe that running restaurants should be simple. So much so that when we found out what a huge pain-in-the-ass it is operationally, to provide takeout and delivery options in our own restaurant, we almost didn't want to do it. We searched high and low for a simple-to-use solution. But it's nowhere to be found. So what the heck, we decided to build it ourselves.

Responsibilities

• You will help to realise design and wireframes into high quality code
• You have the ability to design, build and maintain high performance, reusable and reliable Java code
• You take pride in ensuring the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the application
• You are a natural when it come to team work
• You have a great eye of identifying and correcting bottlenecks and bugs
• You love to help maintain code quality, organisation and automatisation

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web technologies to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices such as material design
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”, “swipe” and “long presses”
• Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A knack for benchmarking and optimisation
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration
• Well verse in Retrofit, Realm, RxJava, ButterKnife, Dagger2 and other libraries
• Ability to provide good documentation of code base
