English Conversation Club

Hwahahaha! Yup that's the one. It's okay for txt or chat situation, but it's not appropriate for formal situations. I think these days lots of kids can't even spell properly. Yikes >8o I still have people asking me how to spell some words and I turned around to them saying "I'm the Asian here, shouldn't you know more about your language than me?" I was only mocking of course :D

well i'm fine, but i have a problem..
can anyone become my editor ?? i wanna make english novel but my grammar is really bad :( , anyone help me!

My grammar is not top notch (it's still all over the place at times), but I'm willing to be your beta reader if you want :) I write fictions and fanfictions in English, and sometimes I'd still find grammar errors after re-reading them several times. I found having someone else reading your story to be helpful at picking up these errors, and sometimes having a fresh eye (and mind) can be helpful at developing your storyline too, so hopefully I can help at least a little bit. Let me know :)

Yep, that's true, even the native americans or british do mistake to, especially in spelling lmao.

@non Lethal_Lady

Ya, usually it happens to me. That awkward moment is, if you write something like summary or something more than 300++ words and after re-reading u find something isn't right lol

I wrote this fantasy story once (it was quite a long one by my standard), and I re-read the story so many times back then to check for errors... and then I left it alone for a few years before finally posting it online, and I found too many mistake while I was doing the final checks, and ended up re-writing some chapters. Haha.... can't hurt to have a beta reader sometimes :p

somebodyyyyy...
teach me english conversation dong :D

actually, my english not good

The most efficient way to learn is to actually speak it. Maybe correspond with someone overseas who speaks English and don't speak Indonesian, or if they do, at least it's minimal, so that way you are forced to write/speak fully in English. It doesn't matter if your grammar is all over the place to start with, because the main thing is that you're trying.

My other trick is to watch a lot of English speaking movies/tv series without subtitle, or set the subtitle in English. That way you'll get the grasp on jokes/slang/every day conversations, and you'll have a better idea on how the conversations work.

And last but not least, read a lot. I started out with a lighter reading (e.g. fiction in the genre you enjoy). I'm pretty sure the first English novel I ever bought and read was a novel by Christopher Pike (can't remember what the title was, but I'll know it if I see the cover). Have a dictionary close by as you'll need it if you're starting out.
