[La Liga-Spanyol] FC Barcelona official: Xavi 2025 ✍️
Barcelona stated in an official announcement: "We have reached an agreement with coach Xavi to extend his contract until June 30, 2025, with an option to renew." Earlier, Xavi had personally revealed his contract extension during a press conference before the Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo match. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, if Xavi leads Barcelona to win either the league title or the Champions League, the option for renewal will be triggered, automatically extending his contract until 2026.
Xavi's coaching career began with the Qatari team Al-Sadd. In November 2021, he returned to his alma mater, Barcelona, to take on the role of head coach. In his nearly two years leading the team, Xavi has guided Barcelona to win one Spanish Super Cup and the La Liga title in the previous season.
