Howie Day - I Will Take You On

New member
Make me fall down
Make me get up
And if i'm alright
Make sure i'm scared to death.
Maybe I'm useless
If I just could remember
Make me feel nervous and I'll...
I'll make you surrender.
I'll take you on

Yeah, I'll take you on
And I'll give it all away
But you don't, but you don't...
I'll give it all away
But you don't feel much better.

You said it yourself...
You said i'm not ready
I'm telling myself
But it's not sinking in.

Maybe I'm new at this
Is it just your reaction?
Be my illusion and I'll...
I'll be your distraction.
I'll take you on.

I'll take you on,
I'll give it all away
But you don't, but you don't...
I'll give it all away
But you don't... feel much better...

Would I be hurt?
It wouldn't hurt to see you again.
You see what I meant.
I told you before.
That i never wanted to feel like this again...
(ohhh...)

And I'll give it all away...
But you don't, but you don't...
I'll give it all away...
But you don't feel much better.

Can we stop all the world now?
Sooner or later
I lose all control...
Now... When the rain stops landing...
Now... nothing to fear here...
In a baby's arms, I'll take you on.
I'll take you on.
Take you on.
Take you on.

Notes:

The original title for "I'll Take You On" was "Feel Much Better"

Originally, Howie stressed the words "Feel Much Better," but reworked the song during the recording for "Stop All the World Now." Day now stresses the phrase "I'll Take You On" and added the last refrain during the recording process.
The album title "Stop All the World Now" is taken from this song.
Full-band live performances of "I'll Take You On" include a loop-sample outro with a tease of the Beatles' classic "Norwegan Wood." The song was cut from setlists in early 2004, but readded in April 2004 with a new extended outro.
