Matt Lamy was born on the Channel Island of Jersey where he attended Victoria College. It was while studying for a degree in journalism at Sheffield University on the UK mainland that he developed an interest in the paranormal, filing reports on the nearby Peak District's ghost planes, earth lights and hauntings. After completing his degree he moved to London where he worked as a freelance journalist until taking up a full-time position with a sports magazine. 100 Strangest Mysteries is his first book.
