Synyster Gates (lahir Brian Elwin Haner, Jr pada 7 Juli 1981) adalah pemimpin bagi gitar Avenged Sevenfold.

M. Shadows (Matius Charles Sanders lahir pada 31 Juli 1981), adalah vokalis / lead singer for the American hard rock / heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. He is from Huntington Beach, California but presently lives in Orange County. Dia berasal dari Huntington Beach, California, tetapi sekarang tinggal di Orange County.

When Shadows was younger he was in a few other punk bands with Avenged Sevenfold’s second guitarist Zacky Vengeance. Shadows ketika ia masih muda di beberapa band punk lainnya dengan Avenged Sevenfold kedua gitar Zacky Vengeance. There was a rumor circulating since a Revolver Magazine interview that Shadows had done damage to vocal chords, forcing the band to change their style of music. M. There was a rumor yang beredar sejak Revolver Magazine wawancara yang telah dilakukan Shadows kerusakan pita suara, band memaksa mereka untuk mengubah gaya musik.
