Memang betul seh, kalo TOEFL test itu ampir mirip dgn mata pelajaran bhs inggris di sekolah, cuma.... LEBIH RUMIT.
Latihan dulu lah... Banyak koq buku latihan TOEFL dijual di Gramed, lengkap ama CD-ROM. Baru ikutin simulasi tes-nya.
Tes TOEFL biasanya dibagi 2, paper ato computer test. Aku pernah ikut yg paper TOEFL test. Tesnya dibagi menjadi listening, structure, reading comprehension dan yang terakhir writing.
Skornya...? ada lah...

TOEFL it is not necessary when we are not going to study abroad. But it is good to know our capabilities

Yup... right. We don't need it if we don't have a plan to study abroad. But, you know, sometimes we're so curious to know it...

i got my toefl test twice,. but thats merely 6 years ago.
the first test (without any preparation = 550), i just got the teofl test bok after the test, but its too late,.
yes, toefl test is about knowing your English skill compared to others, not just for curiosity. i tried the toafl (arabic) test as well.
just for consideration, your toefl test will not last long, so dont waste your money having an international test before having a plan to go abroad.

TOEFL is overrated. Not saying that it's bad... I "am" saying, however, that it is overrated.
My score is pretty high. Apparently higher than most indonesians. But definitely not perfect. So, I'm pretty lucky I guess.

In my TOEFL class, i got 54 something... my lowest score is 523, but my highest was 54... i got the high score coz i am student of english department in STBA LIA Pengadegan.
When i joined the EPT test as for my graduated requirement, i just got 553, and it could be the second best score after my cleverest friend in LIA. He got around 607. TOEFL is very useful when you want to apply a scholarship or continuing your study overseas or you working in some foreigner companies. TOEFL is not necessary if you just want to continue your study in Indonesia.
Some Indonesian universities who conduct TOEFL are exaggerated i think. for the highest level institution like them, they should enforce confidentiality to practice the proper and good Indonesian language among their students, not to make compulsory for their students to join the TOEFL test.
Japan, can be one of the best miracle power in Asia because they are really proud on their culture, as in this case, their language. every year they do translation from some English/other foreign language's scientific book into Japanese, so that their national's identity, which is Japanese language, are well maintained, sustainable, and grow stronger. As the result, the number of foreign people who study japanese are increasing time to time. This step is followed by China, who does the same thing as Japan did several years before (since the Meiji Restoration, i presume). I presume, China would make their Chinese (Mandarin or Hokkian) as the next international language beside English.
I do not want Indonesia someday will be the second Malaysia, the country of which people are not confident enough to practice Malayan in the proper and good way, they mix their Malays with English... sounds weird, silly and absurd to me...

I took a TOEFL prediction test about two months ago, and I scored 543. It was just a prediction, though But I'm kinda satisfied with the result, considering that I didn't prepare anything and I'm still in Junior High School xD

i'm just realized that we should be ashame spoken bahasa mixed english....i used to be proud to mix speak like malay did but now not at all....

sama bung, tanpa persiapan apa pun dua kali TOEFL semasa SMA 500an semua. tapi kayaknya agak aneh, ada yang pake persiapan tapi nilainya kalah ama yg pada ga pake persiapan
